Last week’s column on Random Acts of Kindness (RAOK) generated some interest, which is always nice to get. Perhaps not surprising, a story about paying it forward and the positive benefits it can provide to the giver, receiver, shop where it occurs and community in which they are all apart of is interesting and hopefully infectious. Rockhampton Innovative Networking Group (RING) liked the positivity of the story. For their last networking event for the year Peter Lynch co-founder of RING has invited the instigator of the customer acquisition program, RAOK, Mark Ricks, to talk about it at their get together on December 17. RING as you may know from previous columns is also all for building positivity and confidence in the region. This year mainly with grade 12 students, bringing them together with business representatives to build the students confidence and improve their interview skills, face to face. Schools who took advantage of this opportunity included Rockhampton Grammar School, Emmaus College, St. Ursula’s, Rockhampton Girls Grammar and Yeppoon State High.

The RING event on Tuesday December 17 at CQNRL Bid Club this time is a business to business builder. Building business contacts and relationships at these meetings helps build stronger local communities. Mark Ricks will expand upon his ideas behind the web site Anonymous Friends.com.au and how Random Acts Of Kindness can be a successful customer acquisition strategy for local businesses as well as build positivity and confidence in communities. Those attending will then have an opportunity for a one on one with Mark and the other attendees as networking RING style starts. An inner and outer ring is formed, after a 2 – 3 minute elevator pitch about each business the outer circle starts its rotation.

Businesses interested in attending the RING event and finding out more about how RAOK can benefit their business are encouraged to register their intention on line via the website www.ring.org.au. or email events@ring.org.au or phone 49266538 to allow for catering. A fee of $20 will be charged with proceeds from the evening being donated to the Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service. Positive outcomes are likely to abound. Be good to see you there.
