Real CQ Video

Why I love CQ? I would think there are many reasons why residents and even investors love Central Queensland. Be it the ability to fish for barra within the city reach, the short drive to and from work, the uncrowded beaches, even more deserted islands of Keppel Bay, the wonders of Carnarvon Gorge, the educational/recreational facilities, Five Rocks, the 30 minute drive to a weekend escape, the surf break at Agnes, the view from your front verandah, etc., etc. I wonder, in this era where nearly everyone can easily record video, why CQ doesn’t have its own YouTube channel or Facebook page featuring videos of what people love about Central Queensland. There are videos featuring CQ content on the internet, but not packaged in a way to attract new residents and investors. Imagine the power this promotional tool would have. Real video’s made by real Central Queenslanders on what they love about it. Videos your friends may already be sharing with you on Facebook. Put these on digital platforms that are regularly promoted with the purpose of attracting more people to live, work and invest in CQ, as well as to the locals. How many of us have kayaked on Lake Nuga Nuga, seen the turtles on Heron Island, put your head under Rainbow Falls? It all sounds simple, but to get people to populate a YouTube channel and Facebook page is a challenge. When seeking assistance from about 70 businesses and organisations to provide content in getting a website up to promote the livability and affordability of the region to attract people and businesses to relocate here not one replied. Persistence and greater resources are required; maybe even incentives, public kiosks to show the videos; but once sufficient momentum is gained I believe the sites would automatically attract more content and viewers. Content that sells CQ as a region to visit, live and invest because it’s real. Content that shows we have something special here that makes us more proud of and to be from Central Queensland.
