Interested to go on a ghost hunt? A lot of local teenagers apparently do. There a particular spots around Rockhampton that with the right story can raise goose bumps on warm nights. Are there beckoning enterprise’s to be created involving Rockhampton ghosts? One enterprising lady was running ghost tours. It is a way to reinvigorate interest in the city’s many old buildings and laneways. On May 12 one of those old buildings is being enterprising with its ghosts. The Friends of Archer Park Rail Museum, the volunteer group responsible for its ongoing operation and maintenance, are holding their major fund raising dinner with a paranormal theme. The Spirits of Archer Park will highlight the 6 ghosts that are said to dwell at the 118 year old station, one being the former Station Master Joseph Dickson-Bogie, who shot himself one day at work. To help tell the ghost stories are 3 local paranormal investigators, Merrill, Michelle and Laurel. Rockhampton is a hot spot for ghosts and this has helped attract to the dinner celebrity practicing medium clairvoyant Rayleen Kable, who has featured on the television programs, The One, Sensing Murder and Haunting Australia. Rayleen is keen to do a ghost hunt on the night she arrives in Rockhampton and see what the former city of sin, sweat and sorrow reveals. Listening to the local paranormal investigators though makes me think Central Queensland can attract a lot more people interested in ghosts. Mount Morgan, Calliope, Cracow are all hot spots and ghost tours could be used as another promotional tool in attracting people to visit these towns, see the historic sites and hear the stories, perhaps even meet a ghost. Whether you believe or not doesn’t matter, it’s the interesting locations and intrigue of the stories that makes and keeps it enthralling. And it is the intrigue that will make The Spirits of Archer Park an informative enthralling night. Along with the 3 local paranormal investigators and Rayleen Kable, Rockhampton Girls Grammar School Principal Christine Hills will also talk about the ghost that dwells at the 125 year old school. Tickets to the dinner can be purchased at the station or by phoning 49 222 77 4.
Ghosts for dinner guests, is this an opportunity for a local caterer to develop?
